Jury’s decision
At the TEA in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on the 20th of October 2009, the Jury for the Tenerife Design Paradise Award was made up of: Pierluigi Cattermole, Daniel Charny, Gloria Díaz, Mayte Mederos, Yapci Ramos, América Sánchez, appointed president of the jury and Xènia Viladás.
Following their deliberation, the Jury unanimously decided to award the prize for category A to the project “Tenerife Paradisum: 1.0″, by Javier Sicilia Pederero and Aranzazu Sarmiento Saiz, for their advanced design thinking consisting of giving the natural resources of the island a great value through a communication that brings together the emotions that “Paradise” provides, by promoting the personal experience of nature in a sustainable way. The jury highlighted the possibility of developing future products along the same lines of this idea, taking advantage of the endemic materials and minimizing environmental impacts.
Prizes were not awarded for Categories B and C as the quality of the entries did not meet the requirements set down in the contest rules.
